2010 Bowman Chrome box

The next box in my order was 2010 Bowman Chrome. These boxes are super cheap for good reason. 2010 was the year of the terribly bowed chrome cards, as well as a kinda meh auto checklist. Still, because they're so cheap they can be a fun break with little risk.

The box ended up being unsurprisingly average, but with a good auto. Only three cards were worthy of scanning.

Topps 100 Gold Refractor 03/50

At 1:610 packs this is a tough pull. But 5+ years after release DeJesus is one of the lesser names to pull. Oh well. Not counting regular refractors this was the only color in the entire box.

USA Refractor 438/500

I was pleasantly surprised to pull Kyle Seager as the auto. Looking at the checklist in reference to current day he is probably in the top 5 best autos in the set.

More cards coming soon!

2015 Diamond Kings box

Last week I put together an order consisting of boxes from both Blowout and Dave & Adam's to take advantage of the remaining holiday markdowns. The first box was 2015 Panini Diamond Kings. This was one of my favorite products I opened in 2015. So another box was a given with the current prices.

Overall not a bad box. Only the guaranteed two hits this time after I got three from the first box I opened. But both of these hits were pretty good. I definitely wouldn't mind opening more of DK in the future. Hopefully Panini will produce the set again this year.

New Year New Cards

Howdy folks! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Here are a few cards I picked up off eBay as well as some Christmas cards.

First up, I didn't ask for anything baseball card related this year for Christmas. I've gotten to where my collecting tastes are too expensive to ask my mom for anything. But she still did her usual loose retail packs in my stocking. She actually picked up just two packs from Target. One 2015 Update pack and one 2009 Update pack from the bargain bin. And for the first time ever with loose packs at Christmas, I pulled a relic....from both packs!!! I swear my mom isn't a pack searcher!!! =)

Recently I also bought three more relics from my favorite eBay seller.

One Patch Two Patch

One recent evening I was bored and found myself on eBay. I went to my favorite seller's listings to see what nice baseball stuff he had available and came away with two sweet patch cards, one of which is a big PC addition.

#2/5

First up is this sweet Lyle Overbay patch/auto from 2005 Donruss Prime Patches. The gold section is even sparkly! What I find interesting is this card is from a 2005 product. Overbay not only played for the Brewers in 2005, but also spent 2004 in Milwaukee. I guess Donruss wanted to use the jersey material they had and show the player in the uniform for the team the patch is from, despite him not having played there in two years. The original price the seller had one this card was a little high in my opinion, based on the player, so I made a slightly lower offer and he accepted it immediately.

MEGA PC addition!!!

When I saw this one I immediately hit the BIN. He had it listed for $22 and change with a BO option. I suppose I could have negotiated on this one too but that would have been stupid in my part. $22 shipped for a patch card of a recent fan favorite HoF inductee, and a big PC player for me, AND a HoF relic PC card...I'll take it! This card could have very easily slipped through my fingers if I had hesitated. It's a beauty!!
