Mixer: 2010 Bowman Chrome

Box number three from the mixer case was 2010 Bowman Chrome. These can be had for a low price with the possibility of a Stephen Strasburg auto. The cards were VERY warped. I assume this is due to the same production issues that plagued 2010 Topps Chrome with the switch to a new printer. Still it was an enjoyable box to open. Though I'm not a fan of the black borders for the MLB players and white borders for prospects. I prefer them to be the same. Here are the highlights of the box.

Refractor 239/500

Blue Refractor 057/150

Mega PC pull! Definitely the best card in the box!!

At least the auto is someone I've heard of!

Liddi is the first Italian born baseball player to play in the Major Leagues. But he hasn't been able to stick around in the show having not gotten out of the minors since 2013. He still has some potential though.

Side note: Thank goodness Topps figured out in 2011 that Chrome autos look way better with a white colored area for signing rather than a silver signing area. The blue ink just does not stand out in the silver at all.

Mixer: 2006 Upper Deck Future Stars

Box number two from my mixer case was 2006 Upper Deck Future Stars. This box came at a great price with the main draw being five rookie card autos on clear cardstock. This was a fun box to bust.

This is what the base cards look like.

The box also included quite a few color parallels. These are the highlights.

My scanner is crap. These are very brightly colored cards.

And now the autos.

The Ethier is definitely the best of the bunch. Although Quentin would've been pretty nice a few years ago, but not now.

This box was a lot of fun to bust at a great price. I would definitely recommend it if you like autos and shiny cards.

Mixer: 2014 Topps Tribute

Over the July 4th weekend Blowout did one of their periodic sales. I took advantage and put together an order of a some different boxes, or a "mixer case" as I like to refer to it. More of the boxes I ordered were things I had not opened before but one box I had was 2014 Topps Tribute. I bought one at a show awhile back and did fairly well. 2014 Tribute is one of my most favorite products I've ever opened so I jumped at the chance to grab another box.

31/50

Only one parallel in this box.

I pulled a Kevin Mitchell auto in the last box too. Yay.

19/99

If I had pulled this auto a year ago I would have flipped my $#^t to pull a major PC player auto from high end. But now with Gattis gone to the Astros this is more of a minor PC pull for me. Still a good auto to add to my collection.

03/30

Not bad.

And lastly there's this, which I showed off the other day immediately after pulling it. Can't wait to receive this card!

So, this box turned out differently than the last. The last box had only one non-color hit and two base parallels. This one only had one base parallel and only one color hit, not counting the redemption. But the caliber of the Jackson/Harper dual auto is so high that I think this box still wins. Right now that might be a $500 card in hand. But being a redemption it may be three years before Topps finally sends it to me. So who knows. Either way it will take it's place as one of the centerpieces of my collection.

Speechless

I'm speechless. Already entered the redemption code. There's one on eBay. It is beautiful.

A few recent cards

These cards come from recent Bowman, Stadium Club and Series 2 purchases.

I really cannot believe they had KB as the #2 prospect. Byron Buxton is probably going to have a good career. But Bryant seems like waaaaaaay more of a sure thing.

Yay retail sticker autos of guys I've never heard of!

Green Refractor #59/99

After Wisler's thus far stellar beginning to his MLB career with the Braves, I'm excited about what the future has in store for him.

#52/99

#064/250

Series 2 Image Variation

White Foil Parallel #06/99

These are a tougher pull than an auto from retail. An interesting card but I think I'd rather have pulled an auto.

Should have some new posts coming soon as I've got a "mixer case" arriving tomorrow from Blowout!
