I'm being overrun by commons. I have near full sets that are in cardboard boxes. I have stacks of cards sitting on the floor with nowhere to put them. I have hobby boxes and blasters that still contain the cards, in the wrappers, that were not among the ones I found most desirable. I don't know what to do with all these cards.
My problem is as much storage space as it is storage containers. While the space problem cannot be easily solved, the container problem can be remedied by buying more. But I honestly don't really want to. I have binders for my favorite sets and my Braves PC. I also have a 5k box for hits, inserts and other cards that could be of some value. But I don't want boxes and boxes of cards sitting around that I'm never going to look at and no one is likely to want in a trade.
Now don't get me wrong, this isn't going to stop me from buying cards. This is why I'm starting to shift my focus to the more mid range sets that I really enjoy. But I still have the current problem at hand. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of common base cards and low end inserts? I don't want to throw them away because I did spend money on them after all and as a collector I feel like that would be sacrilege. I have considered filling up USPS flat rate boxes with commons and offering them up for the cost of shipping or for trade. Does that pique anyone's interest?
I've got a pretty healthy stack for you so far from my 5000 count boxes. If you have any Rangers from all those packs, I'm interested.
ReplyDeleteYou got it! I'm a little backlogged at the moment but I'll pull everything Rangers and set it aside for you.
DeleteI would be interested in any extra Red Sox cards you have.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in any Yankees cards you have.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it's time to change the name of your blog ;-)
ReplyDelete300 packs? That's music to my ears. Can't wait to see all of the goodies you pulled.
I was about to say the same thing re: changing the name. Great minds...
DeleteHaha! Yyyeah..I hadn't thought about that but you're right.
